Powervamp & Odyssey Racing Batteries

Both the ‘Odyssey Extreme’ and the ‘Powervamp' racing’ battery product come from the Enersys manufacturing plant. Both are supplied and supported by Powervamp Ltd and backed by Enersys Inc.

The recent decision by one of Enersys’s distributors to import a Far East battery product under that distributor’s same well known brandname (which was previously recognised as being an Enersys pure lead product),and without informing many of its customers of this fundamental change in specification, has led directly to Enersys safeguarding its reputation by developing its own special brand of ultra high performance racing batteries, marketed under the Odyssey ‘Extreme Racing’ brand.

These batteries are now sold through certain major distributors such as Powervamp Ltd who are proud of their EXCLUSIVE use of Enersys products. Powervamp Ltd now one of the UK’s largest users and suppliers of Enersys pure lead batteries through its Racing, Aviation and portable Battery pack business.

Powervamp is more than pleased to offer customers the new Enersys’ Extreme Racing’ product where the added anti-vibration is considered important. In cranking performance, size and weight, both Powervamp Racing and Odyssey Extreme Racing products are identical and both are manufactured by Enersys on the same production lines in the UK and USA.

Powervamp Ltd and Powervamp Racing are pleased to confirm that they exclusively use Enersys Pure lead products in all their Automotive, Racing and Aviation portable GPU’s. The Company does not use, offer or recommend Chinese, Taiwanese or Far East-manufactured batteries which, in its opinion, are unable to offer the same all round performance as the Enersys product.

10 years ago Powervamp entered the Racing market with competitive prices and a wealth of knowledge gained from its vast Aviation and Turbine starting experience.

We took the Enersys brand products and marketed them under the ‘Powervamp Racing’ brand, a name now well known universall.

Because Powervamp uses Enersys batteries to deliver the ultra high power required to start airliners, the company has unrivalled knowledge of what specific Enersys pure lead product is best suited to the specific cranking and perating loads required of the Racing/Rally car owner.

In many instances, vibration is not an issue, or where it is, certain Powervamp racing batteries are well suited for the application. In other instances, the ‘hotel’ load or lack of Alternator or charging regime are other factors to consider.

The Enersys Extreme range has been created, like the Powervamp range, by bringing together various Enersys batteries from the US and UK factories.

However, so that a clear distinction is made between the ‘Extreme Racing’ range, and the range of Enersys products such as those offered under the Powervamp Racing brand, Enersys has added anti-vibration top and bottom plate locking to the product which justifies the slightly higher cost of the product.
