Frequently asked Questions (FAQ)Q: Are they dry batteries?A: Yes, because there is no free acid inside the battery they are covered by the US Dept of Transportation (USDOT) unregulated classification and International Air Transport Association (IATA) unrestricted air shipments category. These batteries can be shipped to you worry-free and are ready to use out of the box. Technically speaking , they are not “dry batteries” but starved electrolyte batteries, meaning there is a minimum of electrolyte within each cell which is absorbed within the glass matt separators. Thus, if the case is damaged or split, no liquid will escape.
