Frequently asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Are these Hawker batteries?

A: The technology was originally developed by the Varley company in Acton, London for use in the Comet aircraft. They were eventually taken over by Hawker in the 1980’s and Hawker in turn were acquired by Enersys Inc in 2002.

Enersys manufacture batteries using this technology in a few specific manufacturing sites. The key ones are in the UK and one in the USA. These batteries are marketed under various tradenames, including Powervamp. But, no matter what it says on the label, they all start their life from the same manufacturer.
