Frequently asked Questions (FAQ)Q: I do not understand the A/h rating - please explainA: The A/h rating defines the capacity of a battery. A typical battery that is rated at 100Ah at the 10 hour rate of discharge is capable of delivering 10amps for 10 hours before the terminal voltage drops to a standard value such as 1.67v per cell. Multiply the 1.67 volts x the 6 cells that make up a 12 volt battery and you get what is called the end voltage – in this case 10.02 volts - at which voltage the battery is considered discharged. Similarly a 50Ah battery would supply a 5amp load for 10 hours.
