Frequently asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: How do I charge my Powervamp battery?

A: Powervamp batteries can be charged off a vehicle alternator set to 14.5 - 14.7volts. If using a separate charger we recommend using a 3-stage, intelligent float-charger with appropriate voltage and current outputs which ensures that, as the battery reaches full charge, the voltage reduces to 13.8v. As long as this type of charger is used there is no limit to the inrush current enabling these batteries to be recharged very quickly.

You should not use a single-stage charger as overcharging and damage can occur.

A battery conditioner is also not suitable for recharging as typically they have outputs of 800mA and do not deliver enough power to recharge a flat battery, only to maintain a fully charged one.
