Powervamp Racing support Ben Morse’s Championship
The BRM Powerboat Racing team is; Driver Ben Morse, Mechanic/Dad Adrian Morse, Mentor/Boat Builder Andy Goodfellow, RYA representative Ian Andrews and last but not least Mum Ruth Morse
The 2007 British Championship series had begun in May 2007 and the new outfit was tested in anger for the first time - a great result with Ben finishing 1st in all 3 heats. Later in May at the second round, both Ben and the boat were tested further when in strong winds, Ben flipped the boat nose-first through 180 degrees during the practice session. Fortunately Ben escaped with only bruises to his legs and was remarkably relaxed about the whole experience. The boat was only slightly damaged and after repairs, Ben was back on the water 2 hours later for the first heat. The strong winds persisted all weekend and Ben settled for 4th position rather than take any more risks. The 3rd round saw Ben back on form winning all 3 heats and with 2 rounds to go has an 11 point lead. He has also competed in 2 other National events this year; the UK Junior Masters and the British Sprint Championship, winning both events outright. The next event was the European Championship and the goal in 2007 was to finish higher than 10th place.
During 2007 the team has been supported by AMSOil, Powervamp and Carl Ogden (Photographer), without whom it would not have been possible to attend the event.
